The TWOS [Chockmah]
The Great Expectation Cards.
At last we arrive at the Two’swhichsignify an opportunity for growth, forwithout another there can be nomultiplication. In a sense, the Two’s are actually the real “beginning” cards (as we see the beginning of a new relationship on the Two of Cups) rather than the Aces, which are the seeds of beginnings.
2 of Pentacles:Balancing the books
Something may have been set in motion that cannot be undone; this can be good or it can be bad, as they say it is all down to how you handle a difficulty; whether you see it as an obstacle or more positively as a situation that will enable growth through sheer necessity. It can also warn of being wary with how you communicate something, something that you do or say can be twisted and used against you. In the book Secrets of the Waite Smith Tarot, we discover that there is much more to this card than we can ever imagine; that Pamela Colman Smith had taken inspiration from an illustration byEdward Burne-Jones, ‘False Mercury’ from his ‘Flower book’. This fits in nicely with what Waite says “news and messages in writing, as obstacles, agitation, trouble and embroilment”. This card warns against succumbing to fancy and delusions. Keep it real; look at the facts and the figures!
Be wary of confusion with your accounts; false accounting.
2 of Swords:Something has got to give
This is a state of conflict; it could be a state of mind, or a situation that you have found yourself in; such as a personal relationship or through your work. You are at an impasse; a deadlock, unable to escape from a situation that has become intolerable. A solution is needed to get you out of state of inaction. The advice the card could offer is you need to act, do something, one action creates another; power produces power. So just do it!
2 of Cups: Put us together again
One that becomes two; this card bears well for anyone that is waiting for that special personto share their life, their soul-mate is on the horizon. Meeting someone who you have a special affinity with, and will bring about changes in your life.
2 of Wands: The more you have, the more you want
This card is very favorable; however, that depends on what you want out of life, in that, if you are happy with material gain and success, and are prepared to sacrifice personal relationships in order to achieve this, then this is the card for you! There is an old saying “You cannot have it all”andthis sumsupthis card, it is saying make your mind up and decide what you want, it is in your hands.
